Mary M. Knapp (Glasson), beloved mother, wife, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away, January 23, 2008. Mary was born on July 12, 1920 in Kellogg, Idaho. Preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Iva Glasson, and her husband of 66 years, Earle F. Knapp. Mary is survived by her four children, Robert, Randy, Rick and Diann; sisters, Hazel and Joyce; nine grandchildren ; and five great-grandchildren. Mary's entire life was being a devoted daughter, sister, wife and loving mother and grandmother. Mary loved working with her father building and remodeling homes. She was his carpenter's assistant. Together they built Earle and Mary's new home in Vaughn, WA. Mary was a member of the Order of Eastern Star. She was Valedictorian of her graduating class at Union High School. Mary was a gifted vocalist who had leading parts in her high school musicals. In later years, Mary enjoyed spending time with her husband in Arizona, Mexico and at their ranch on Duck Creek near Townsend, MT. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the nursing staff and care givers at Alpine Way Retirement Apartments for their wonderful care during her residency. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Alzheimer's Association or a charity of your choice. Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 9, 2008, at Haven of Rest Funeral Home in Gig Harbor.
