E. Muriel (Mungovan) Dailey, a lifelong resident of Lowell, died November 6, 2013, in Lowell, after an extended illness, aged 96 years. She was the beloved wife of the late Howard J. Dailey, Sr.

Born in Lowell, June 11, 1917, a daughter of the late John F. and Eileen (Jelley) Mungovan. She received her early education in the Lowell school system and graduated from Lowell High School with the Class of 1936.

Mrs. Dailey was a longtime member of the Saint Peter Church until its closure. She was a devout communicant of St. Margaret Church, where she was a member of the Blessed Virgin Mary Sodality.

Muriel was an amazing cook, especially when it came to family dinners. She also enjoyed playing Bingo and taking trips to Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun. In her leisure time, she also enjoyed crocheting.

The family would like to thank the VNA of Greater Lowell, especially RNs Theresa and Shirley, for the loving care Muriel was given.

She is survived by her loving sons, Howard J. Dailey Jr. and his wife June of Lowell, Michael Dailey and his wife Patricia of Dracut, and Brian Dailey of Westford. Ten cherished grandchildren, Kimberly, Howard J. III, Becky, Carla, Brandy, April, Misty, Brian, Eugene and Patricia, and fourteen great-grandchildren. A brother, Donald Mungovan of Lowell, a sister, Joan Lake of Hudson, NH and Florida, and a sister-in-law, Rita Boissonneault of Dracut. Also by several nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear friends. She was the sister of the late Catherine Leary, Paul Mungovan and Jack Mungovan.

Dailey, Sr. Friends will be received at the MORSE-BAYLISS Funeral Home, 122 Princeton Blvd., the Highlands neighborhood of Lowell, on Sunday from 2 to 4:45 PM, followed by her Funeral Service at 5 PM. Interment will be private. Friends who wish may make memorial donations in her name to the VNA of Greater Lowell, 336 Central St., Lowell, MA 01857. Funeral Directors, Frederick W.
