Dallas Dale Eckley, age 65, of 30214 Highway 149, Hedrick, passed away at 5:24 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 24, 2008.

He was born near Ollie to Dale and Frances Smith Eckley on March 20, 1942.

He attended school in Martinsburg and Hedrick and graduated from Ollie High School in 1960.Dallas married Karen Hedlund of Packwood on April 18, 1964, at Packwood.

He lived his entire life in Keokuk County where he farmed several years before starting a trucking career lasting for forty years before he retired. He was an owner/operator over the road semi driver and later worked for various trucking firms.

He is survived by his wife Karen; 3 sons: Scott (Barbara) of Lee's Summit, Mo.; Dar (Shelley) of rural Hedrick; and Brent (Sherene) of Union, Mo.Also, 10 grandchildren whom he truly adored: Hannah, Jordan, Emily, Victoria, Luke, Madison, Chase, Chandler, Dayne and Hillary; two special stepgrandchildren Mark (Kelle) Gilmore and Kristin (Kelley) Jenison; five sisters: Myrna Madsen of St. Charles, Mo.; Jean (Larry) Lacey of Center Point, Iowa; Janet (Jim) Maddy of Macomb, Michigan, Diana Eckley and Brenda( Joe) Lamansky, both of Brighton; and 1 brother, Dennis Eckley of Brighton.

He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 sisters: Mary Gilliand and and Dorothy Brain; and an infant brother, Richard.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 28, at the Grace Family Church, 24536 Highway 78, near Ollie. Burial will be in the Mt. Zion Cemetery near Martinsburg.
