HADDONFIELD, N.J. - Maurice B. Hartsock Jr., 43, son of Mr. and Mrs. Maurice B. Hartsock Sr., 303 S. W. Third Ave., Clearfield, suffered a heart attack and died yesterday morning, Jan. 12, at his desk in the Peoples National Bank of Camden County, N.J.
Mr. Hartsock, who started his banking career at the County National Bank at Clearfield in 1941, was executive vice president and a member of the board of the bank. He previously was employed as executive vice president of the Cherry Hill, N.J., National Bank and for six years before that served in a similar capacity in the Phoenixville, Pa., Trust Co.
Mr. Hartsock was a graduate of Clearfield High School and the Stonier Graduate School of Banking at Rutgers University.
He participated in athletics while in high school, but is best remembered as a veteran catcher with the championship Clearfield Indian teams in the JC League in the late 1950's.
He was born Jan. 23, 1923, at Philipsburg.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, the former Anne Wenrich, of Haddonfield and the following children: Kenneth, stationed with the U.S. Air Force at Plattsburgh, N.Y.; Susan, a student at Grier School, Birmingham, Pa.; Jeffrey, who makes his home with his grandparents at Clearfield; and Lynn, 3, and Brandley, 10 months, both at home.
He is also survived by these brothers, James L. and Norman B., both of Indianapolis, Ind., and Thomas B., Harrisburg.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, the former Kathryn Butler of Clearfield.
Friends will be received in the Holl Funeral Home, 15 West End Ave., Haddonfield. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday with interment in the Locustwood Memorial Park at Haddonfield.
