During WWII, Horace was the U.S. Representative for the Rubber Development Corp in Brazil. He also owned a chain of restaurants in Bogota, Columbia. Later, Horace and Betty returned to the USA and lived in Washington, D.C.
Horace's parents, who moved to Arizona in the 1930s, predeceased him. He was survived by his sister, Galena (Day) Coutchie, and his brother Addison Perry Day Jr. Funeral and interment held at Fairview Memorial Park.
