Karl R. Pasch, age 72, died on Saturday afternoon, Jan. 26, 2008, at his home, after a long illness.

Karl was born on Jan. 23, 1936, in New London, son of Avis (Curtis) Pasch and the late Karl E. Pasch. He attended Immanuel Lutheran Grade School and Washington High School in New London. Karl served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict. On Sept. 1, 1956, Karl was married to the former June Houle, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Appleton. Karl worked in the construction trades, notably on the Manitowoc North Pier containment project, and also worked with Manitowoc County to open and operate its first composting site.

Survivors include his wife: June of Manitowoc; two sons and one daughter-in-law: Karl E. Pasch of Manitowoc, and Mark (Denise) Pasch of Manitowoc; two daughters and sons-in-law: Diane (Steven) Reel of Mishicot, and Janet (Joseph) Gaiovnik of Manitowoc; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; his mother: Avis Pasch of Appleton; two sisters and brothers-in-law: Donna (Don) Main of New London, and Judith (Carl) Zimmer of Appleton; and one sister-in-law and two brothers-in-law: Jane (Robert) Beattie, Glen Flora; and David Houle, New London. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by his father: Karl E. Pasch; an infant son: Scott Pasch; a niece: Amy Main; and one great-nephew: Justin Zimmer.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2008, at the Knollwood Mausoleum Chapel, 1500 Highway 310, Manitowoc. The Rev. Barbara Ristow, Chaplain Aurora VNA Hospice, will officiate, with entombment of Karl's cremated remains in the Knollwood Mausoleum.

Relatives and friends may call at the chapel on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m.

The Reinbold & Pfeffer Family Funeral Home of Manitowoc is serving the Pasch family.

The family extends a warm thanks to the Aurora VNA Hospice for their care during the last months of his illness.
