Lois Mae "Sonny" Lewinski (nee Sonnenburg) entered Eternal Life into the presence of Jesus and reunited with her husband Joseph Lewinski on August 6, 2022, at the age of 87.

Lois Mae Lewinski was born on October 6, 1934, in Milwaukee, WI, to the late Gilbert and Mabel Sonnenburg. She was the best friend and loving wife of the late Joseph for nearly 62 years. Lois married Joseph Lewinski on September 22, 1956, at Garden Homes Lutheran Church. "Joe" and "Sonny" were blessed with 3 children.

Lois is the loving mother of David (Barbara) Lewinski, Daun Schultz and Julie (Jim) Sergeant. Cherished grandmother of Laura Rogers, Andrea (Phil) Saulnier, Julia (Caleb) Olson, Stephanie Schultz (fiance Brandon), Megan (Matthew) Tomey, Sarah (Brian) Rutz, Samantha Sergeant and Stephen Sergeant. Great-grandmother of Naomi Rogers, Lilak Saulnier, Terran Saulnier, Savannah Rutz and Elias Olson.

"Sonny" is further survived by her sister Carol Traeger, sister-in-law Sue Lewinski and many other relatives and friends. Lois was devout in her faith and was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in West Bend for more than 25 years. In addition to spending cherished time with loved ones, her smile, "sunny" personality, kindness and loving spirit touched the lives of everyone she met, and she will be greatly missed by many.

In her younger years, Sonny enjoyed being active in the church by teaching Sunday School and volunteering for Ruth Alter Guild. In her years at Cedar Bay Assisted Living, she joined the bell choir, went on many outings and was a member of the resident council. She also loved playing bingo and attending chapel services. Her happiest moments though were spending time with her family who loved her dearly.

We would like to extend a special thank you to the Cedar Bay hospice staff, who graciously loved and cared for our mom during this difficult journey.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 11, at CHURCH AND CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME, 380 Bluemound Rd., (corner of highway J and JJ), Waukesha from 5 PM, until the time of service at 7 PM. Private burial at Pinelawn Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, the family has designated memorials to St. John's Lutheran Church, West Bend.
