Alta LaVera Butcher Nuzman, age 89, died on November 28, 2007, in Murray, UT. She was born on March 26, 1918, in Taylorsville to Matilda Ekstedt and Edward Butcher.
She married Clyde Louis Nuzman on December 17, 1934. Alta was the volunteer of the year in 1989 and received the President's Call to Service Award, in recognition of her service to the aged of Utah. She is survived by sons, Darold Clyde of Salt Lake City, UT and Edward Frank of Phoenix, AZ; grandchildren, Gregory and Janet Nuzman, Nicholas and Michael Ieromnimon, Susan Staley, Stacy Nuzman, Tami Parker, Mark Merritt and numerous great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde in 1983; sister, Arvella, and several brothers; daughter, Carol N. Ieromnimon in 1972; son, Rodney Louis Nuzman who died in infancy in 1938 and a son-in-law, George Nicholas Ieromnimon in 1987.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, Dec. 10, 2007 at 11 a.m. at Deseret Memorial Mortuary, 36 E. 700 S., Salt Lake City, UT. A viewing will be held Sunday, Dec. 9, 2007 from 6-8 p.m. and one hour prior to services at Deseret Memorial Mortuary.
Cremation followed, and urn burial was at Midvale City Cemetery.
