On March 13, 1972, Denny was united in marriage to (Stewart) at St. Catherine's Catholic Church in Indianola. On September 17, 1973, Dennis joined the Nebraska State Patrol in the 21st class, received his badge 248 and served his career in Troop D, in the Broken Bow area. Dennis served the Nebraska State Patrol as a Trooper for 25 years. He retired in January 1998.
Dennis enjoyed the outdoors fishing, hunting, and camping. He enjoyed storytelling, Nebraska football, NFL, motorcycling, camping and boating. Dennis loved to be around family and follow his kid's and grandkid's events. Dennis was a handyman around the house and the lake.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Johnny and Rae; brother, Terry Campbell.
A private family inurnment will take place at Ft. McPherson National Cemetery at Maxwell, Nebraska with Military Honors performed by the Marine Corps Honor Guard at a later date.
