Mabel Ansley, an 83-year-old resident of Jamestown, died late yesterday in a local hospital. Mrs. Ansley, a native of Nevada City, had lived in Tuolumne County for about 10 years. She is survived by two cousins, Charlotte Scanavino of Quartz and Laura Honey of Sonora. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. tomorrow in the Terzich-Wilson mortuary, and cemation will follow at Park View in Stockton.
Mabel, her mother and her sister, Ethel Faye, had lived with her maternal grandmother and uncles in Quartz, Tuolumne County, at the turn of the 20th century. She was the granddaughter of Jane and Richard Whitford.
On January 5, 1907, in Los Angeles County, Mabel married Wilson Rogers Ainsley. The couple lived in San Francisco and had no children.
