Shirley A. Connell of Jersey City and Piscataway New Jersey passed away peacefully on Thursday August 11, 2022 at the age of 93.
She retired from the Hudson County Board of Elections in 2008.
She is survived by her daughters, Shirley Graham, Pearl Connell, Georgette Niang and Renee Walker, grandsons, William Graham Jr., James R. Adams III, Ray Michael Walker, and Mouhameth Niang, great grandchildren Zayden Todd and Ayanna Adams, and a host of nephews, nieces and friends.
She was very active in Community Affairs in Jersey City for many years as a member of Christ The King Rosary Society, The Com-Bin-Nations (Civic Club), The V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary, The Astor Place Block Association and the N.A.A.C.P.
She is predeceased by her husband George A. Connell.
