HALE GODWIN SR., 89, of St. Petersburg, formerly of Tampa, died Tuesday in St. Petersburg. A native of Wesley Chapel, he moved to St. Petersburg in 1994 from Tampa. He was former owner of Home Builder's Supply and owner of Godwin's Upholstery. He was a member of the Hillsborough Lodge No. 25 F&AM, Scottish Rite and Egypt Shrine Temple and First Baptist Church of Tampa. He is survived by his wife, Lois; a daughter, Imogene Wood of Tampa; two sons, Hale Jr. and Leslie, both of Tampa; a sister, Bernice Thornberry; 11 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. Anderson-McQueen Funeral Home Ninth Street Chapel, St. Petersburg.
