Bishop Samuel Hess was born in Conestoga Twp son of Micael and Barba Krieder Hess. He came to this area in 1760 and purchased 300 acre homestead. A church and cemetery were constructed on his farm.
A note....Some historians believe that this Samuel Hess is buried elsewhere.. 107885795 it's possible this is another Samuel Hess
one can't understand why in 1819 a body would be taken 30 away for burial?
This Samuel Hess is my 5th great grandfather and I stand on the Family tradition that Bishop Hess is buried with others family in the graveyard on farm in West Donegal Twp. Lancaster Co., PA; Benn Hertz, 2022
