Fabian Bland was the son of author Edith Nesbit and her husband, Hubert Bland.

He died, at aged 15, on October 18, 1900, following the administration of chloroform for the removal of his tonsils. Although the surgeon had ordered nothing by mouth after midnight, he ate breakfast without the family knowing. After being discharged, his father found him dead in bed after aspiration from vomiting.

His grave is unmarked.

In 1901 his mother dedicated her book 'The Would-be-Goods' to 'My Dear Son Fabian Bland'.
