David Adams Died After a Long Illness.
David Adams died at his home, 900 South Water street, at 1 p. m. Christmas day, and will be buried at 2 p. m. today.
Mr. Adams was born at Saratoga, N. Y., January 13, 1829, leaving his native state when a mere lad. He located in Illinois, where he married Sarah Wait. By this union there were born six children, three of whom are now living -- Mrs. Oscar Moore of Potwin, Kan., Mrs. T. E. Turner of Wichita, and Elmer Adams of Furley, Kan., who, with his wife, were at his bedside at the time of his death. Mr. and Mrs. Adams celebrated the fiftieth anniversary of their wedding over a month ago. Mr. Adams came to Kansas in 1873 and settled at Towanda, Butler county, and came to Wichita eleven years ago, where they have peacefully resided ever since. His life has been such as to command the respect and admiration of all who knew him.∼David Adams died at his home in Wichita Christmas day, of nervous prostration. Mr. Adams lived in Towanda and Murdock townships about eighteen years, moved from Murdock to Ottawa, thence to Wichita, where he has resided about eight years.
He was 74 years old, leaves a wife and three children, Mrs. W. O. Moore, of Murdock; Mrs. Thomas Turner, of Wichita; and Elmer Adams, of Sedgwick County. The funeral was held the 26th and the remains were buried at Maple Grove Cemetery, Wichita.
