Donna was born Ocotber 11, 1933, in Indian River, Michigan, the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Russell and Harriet (Nelson) Cole. Donna met the love of her life, William, shortly before World War II, and when he returned from his service in the military, William and Donna were married. They shared many wonderful years together until William's death on December 26, 2013. Before she got married, Donna spent four years working as a dental assistant. When her children were born, she became a stay-at-home mom. She greatly enjoyed taking care of her two children, but when they eventually grew up and moved out, Donna decided to become a preschool teacher! She had a great passion for this job, and enjoyed caring for the children she worked with from 1990 until her retirement in 1996. In her free time, Donna could always be found reading a good book, watching her favorite television shows, or tending to the rose bush in her front yard. Some of her fondest memories were made on trips back home to Indian River to visit her family and her hometown. She was a wonderful woman who will be greatly missed.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents, Russell and Harriet; her husband, William Byberg; and her four brothers: Douglas, Nelson, Byron, and Melvin Cole.

In accordance with Donna's wishes, cremation will take place.
