The son of Jimmy Wayne Sebastian and Mary Rosene (Amyx) Sebastian, James was born on January 12, 1963, in Denton, Texas. He attended Sanger schools, graduated from Sanger High School in the Class of 1981, and obtained an Associate Degree.
On December 11, 1981, James married Clydeine Lee Wilhoite in Sanger, Texas. James and Clydeine made their home in Sanger, where they raised their children Ray and Diane. He was an engineer for Rochester Sensors, a career he has maintained for 34 years. Additionally, James was a farmer and worked hard for his family. He taught and helped his children with FFA projects, but most importantly, he taught them to love and serve the Lord. James was an avid hunter, having hunted elk, antelope, and deer. He served in a group called Operation Orphans, which allowed him to minister to children and take them on guided hunts.
Of course, the best part of his life was the time spent with Clydeine, Ray and Danielle, Diane and Jake, and the grandchildren. They swam in the lake on their property, fished, and rode four-wheelers with the grandchildren. James had a passion for flying and obtained his pilot's license. But, the most wonderful thing in life was to hear the grands call out to "Paw Paw."
James was a lifetime member of the Church of Christ. In 1984, the church needed someone to lead the singing. James filled that need, which he has done on and off since then. James was a Deacon over World Bible School Leaders. In addition, he served as a teacher in Leadership for Christ (LTC) and Vacation Bible School. James has served the church as an Elder for the last four years.
