Services for Elma Oneta Norwood, 84, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Harvey-Douglas Chapel with the Rev. Charles Biggers and the Rev. John Baxley officiating. Interment will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery in Sulphur.

Born to Dulie and Willie L. Morris Clark July 26, 1916, at McAlester, Mrs. Norwood died Nov. 19, 2000, in a local health care facility.

A resident of Ardmore since Oct. 10, 1959, moving here from Sulphur, she was a former social worker with service organizations including the Salvation Army. She was a member of International and National Poetry Hall of Fame, having published seven books of poetry. She was a Baptist.

Survivors include a daughter, Jane Williams, Moore; a sister, Lorene Landers, Fort Smith, Ark.; brothers, Carl Clark, Idabel, and Don Clark, Shawnee; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, R.D. Norwood; a son, Daniel Richard Norwood; an infant brother and sister.
