Thomas Henry SHEPPARD was born in January of 1848, the son of Lorenzo Dow SHEPPARD Sr. & Sarah Jane HODGES. He was the husband of Mary Catherine BOYKIN, and they were the parents of seven children, born 1872-1892:

• Leah Bell SHEPPARD OVERSTREET,
• Elouise W. SHEPPARD STEPHENS, "Weesie",
• Nina Letitia SHEPPARD BOYKIN, "Neshie",
• Elizabeth SHEPPARD PRYOR, "Bessie",
• Sallie SHEPPARD (who died as an infant),
• Joseph Henry SHEPPARD, "Joe", and
• Thomas Watson SHEPPARD.
