Edson C. Cox, 55, of Dixon, died Tuesday, August 16, 2022.
He was born on November 17, 1966, in Sterling, the son of Charles and Charleen Cox.
A graduate of Sterling High School in 1984; Sauk Valley Community College in 1986 and Northern Illinois University with a master's degree Cum La De. He was an Illinois licensed broker owner of Century 21 Results and served on many committees in the community: Realtors Association, Hometown Association of Realtors, SVCC Trustee and SVCC Foundation, Sterling Twin City Sunrise Rotary Club, Sterling Main Street, Sauk Valley Chamber of Commerce. He received honors throughout his life, SVCC Outstanding Alumnus 2006, Illinois Realtor of the Year and Sauk Valley Chamber of Commerce. He had a zest for life; a love of being in the kitchen, in which he learned from his grandma Cox and a "green thumb" that his grandpa Cox shared with him. Always a hard worker, he started out mowing lawns; with is first job working at Kmart; he taught classes at NIU and SVCC; later owning his own businesses. Ed's craft and savvy at entertaining, his charisma and dance moves will be missed.
Survivors include his special friend; his sister and her husband; his brother; his four nieces; his nephew and his wife and his great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Darlene Cox and paternal and maternal grandparents
At his request there will be no public services and cremation will take place.
Memorials in his memory may be mailed in care of the McDonald Funeral Home, 1002 12th Avenue, Rock Falls, IL 61071.
