I was just getting to know Greg after learning that we may be cousins. I found him to be a friendly guy who was simply looking for extended family. He wanted nothing more than to know his biological family.

I helped him get in contact with Uncle Bill, who agreed to do a DNA test, since Greg's biological father was Uncle Bill's brother who was already deceased. The DNA test results were 99.9% positive that he was indeed a Fields.

He was the biological son of Desmond Fields.

He was able to have a relationship with Uncle Bill, and he and I spoke often on the phone.

He told me how proud he was of his daughters, and grandchildren. He had recently become a grandpa again and he was tickled about that.

He had told me that the gentleman that his mother eventually married and became his father was a very good man. Greg always knew that his biological father was out there somewhere but it wasn't until he was close to his 70's that he finally decided to search.

I never had the opportunity to physically meet Greg in person but I considered him to be my cousin and proud to know him.

I will miss him.
