Donny Eugene Basse, age 76, of Carrollton, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, August 14, 2022, at E.W. Thompson Health and Rehabilitation in Sedalia, Missouri.
Donny was the son of Charles and Laura (Peck) Basse, born on April 29, 1946. He graduated from Braymer High School in 1964, and enlisted in the United States Army.
On July 23, 1988, Donny married Loretta Marie Harman and to this union they were blessed with one daughter, Channa Marie. He enjoyed being a rural letter carrier and was a member of the National Rural Letter Carrier's Association. Donny was a man who never complained, and always put everyone's needs before his own. He liked watching Gun Smoke and all westerns, WWE, Days of Our Lives, and The Young and the Restless. Donny was great at repairing vehicles and lawn mowers, and had quite the collection and variety of lawnmowers.
Donny is survived by his daughter, Channa Marie Basse of Sedalia, Missouri; one sister, Thyra Bailey of Carrollton, Missouri; two grandchildren, Dawson Eugene Basse of Carrollton, Missouri, and Cameron Lee Basse of Sedalia, Missouri; several brothers-in-law; several sisters-in-law; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Laura Basse; his beloved wife, Loretta Basse; and numerous siblings.
A Graveside Service with inurnment will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Friday, August 19, 2022, at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Carrollton, Missouri, with Father Ken Criqui and Deacon Gary Kappler officiating.
