MRS. HANNAH HEFFMAN

Hannah Jane Heffman was born in Oneida County, New York, September 16, 1844 and died Saturday, January 3, 1931. She came to Illinois with her parents while yet an infant, and they located in DeKalb county.

In 1860 she was married to Charles F. Bebee and to this union, one child Lillies, was born, who died in 1881.

The family moved to Iowa in 1868 and resided in Jones county until 1901 when they moved to Central City, which place has been the home of the deceased since that time.

Mr Bebee died in 1910 and in 1912 she was married to John W. Heffman who died in 1914.

Mr. And Mrs. Bebee adopted two children, Bert Woodruff and Maud Crow, the latter became Mrs. Sam Grimm of Monticello.

The surviving relatives are: one brother, Chauncey Johnson, and a half brother Frank McElroy(McInroy), both of Riceville, Iowa. Three grandchildren, Charles C. Whiting and James H. Whiting of Mt. Ida, Kansas and Elmer E. Whiting of Central City, also several nieces and nephews.

In early life Mother Heffman united with the Presbyterian church in Genoa, Ill., and remained a member of that church until her death. For the past eight years her grandson, Elmer Whiting, has lived with Mrs. Heffman and has been devoted in his love for her.

The funeral service was held from the late home Tuesday afternoon the Rev. George W. Self officiating. Burial was made in Hazel Green(Knoll) Cemetery.
