WIDOW WAS WRITER
LONDON (CP) -- Lady Tweedsmuir, widow of Lord Tweedsmuir, late Canadian governor-general, has died at her Oxfordshire home at 94.
Lord Tweedsmuir, who wrote thrillers as John Buchan, was governor-general in Ottawa from 1935 until his death in 1940.
Although overshadowed by her husband as a writer, Lady Tweedsmuir was a prolific author herself.
Her better known works were A Study of Wellington After Waterloo and a biography of novelist Louisa M. Allcott. Her most recent work was The Edwardian Lady, published in 1967.
The couple had three sons and a daughter.
Their youngest son, Alastair, died last year at 57. He had been a Canada Army veteran, journalist and founding director of the International Institute of Strategic Studies in London.

Lady Tweedsmuir died at Burford, near Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, on 22 March 1977 aged 94 and was buried beside her husband in the churchyard at Elsfield.
