Virginia Ruth (Rose) Wells Moerman Larson Stahmann was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to George Frank Rose and Mary (Knippel) Rose.

She was a member of the Women's Army Corps during WWII and was the radio operator in the South Pacific who first received word of President Roosevelt's death and passed it on to fighting units all over that part of the world.

In 1954 she, her husband Melvin J. Larson, and her two daughters moved from Milwaukee to Melbourne, Florida.

Survivors include her son Thomas Moerman and his wife Kathy of Waukesha, WI; daughters Dianne May (Larson) Ward and her husband Jim of Aberdeen, Washington and Melody Ellen Larson (Find A Grave memorial 13377509) of Titusville; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her fourth husband, Albert R. Stahmann.
