Mr. Bennett served in the National Guard and was a retired School Teacher.
He is survived by his son, Andy Bennett and wife Tonya; two grandchildren, Chad (Brooke) Bennett and Hunter (Alexis) Bennett; four great-grandchildren, Maverick, Reed, Huxton and Bristol Bennett; brother, Alex Bennett and sister, Harriett Bennett Bagley both of Dixie Union.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday (August 31, 2022) at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Crosby Funeral Home with Bishop R. B. Gaskins officiating. Interment will follow in the Jordan Church Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Tuesday evening between 6 and 8 PM.
Active pallbearers will be; Chad Bennett, Hunter Bennett, Archy Bennett, Ricky Bennett, Chris McQuaig and Marty Medders. All others will be considered honorary escorts.
Crosby Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
