The 1920 US Census of Town Creek, Lawrence Co., AL was taken on 20 Mar 1920. It enumerated the household of 46 Y/O widower, Rev. Samuel Lee Prickett, Sr. Among his six children living in the household was 9 Y/O Joseph Westley Prickett. Also living in the household was 72 Y/O "Mollie" A. Berry, his mother-in-law. This was Mary Ann (Wilson) Berry, the mother of his first wife, Josie (Berry) Prickett.

The Rev. Samuel Lee Prickett, Sr. secondly married Bellezora Lovette (FAG Memorial #24311591) on 28 Dec 1921 at Lawrence Co. AL (Book "Q" Alabama marriages).

The 1930 US Census of Carbon Hill, Walker Co., AL enumerated the household of 56 Y/O Samuel Prickett, Sr., a Methodist minister, and his 41 Y/O wife, Bellezora (Lovette) Prickett. Also living in the household were the children of Samuel by his first wife, Josie (Berry) Prickett. They were: 19 Y/O Joseph Westley Prickett; 17 Y/O Dana Prickett; 15 Y/O Samuel Lee Prickett, Jr., a church janitor and 13 Y/O Frances Prickett. This census indicated that Samuel Prickett, Sr. was 33 Y/O when he married his first wife, Josie (Berry) Prickett translating to about 1905. This census also indicates that 41 Y/O Bellezora Lovette married Samuel Prickett when she was 32 Y/O translating to 1921.

Joseph married Elizabeth R. Thompson, daughter of Bernard O. and Sadie H. Thompson, on 18 Jun 1932 in Jefferson Co., Alabama. She was born about 1913 in Birmingham, Jefferson Co., Alabama. Further research is needed to locate her and any children they may have had. She may have remarried after Joseph's death.

The 1940 US Census of Birmingham. Jefferson Co., AL enumerated the household of 29 Y/O Joseph Westley Prickett, a school teacher born in AL, and his 27 Y/O wife, Elizabeth (Thompson) Prickett. Joseph was a college graduate with a year post college.

The 1949 Birmingham, AL City Directory recorded Belle (Lovett) Prickett, widow of Samuel L. Prickett, Sr. living at 212 Princeton Ave with her step-son, Joseph Westley Prickett and his wife, Elizabeth (Thompson) Prickett.

The 1953 Birmingham, AL City Directory recorded Joseph Westley Prickett and his wife, Elizabeth T. Prickett . Joseph was principal of Edgewood Elementary School. They resided at 212 Princeton Ave SW. Also living in their residence was Westley's step-mother, Bellezora (Lovette) Prickett.

The 1960 Birmingham, AL City Directory recorded Joseph Westley Prickett and his wife Elizabeth T. Prickett . Joseph was principal of Homewood Junior High School.
