Mr. Howell was operated on in 1918 when he lost his eyesight. He had been in poor health for some time but was able to care for himself to the last. He said he would lie down for awhile and quietly fell asleep.
Mr. Howell moved to Waterville in 1888, from there he came to Lakeside, where he had lived for the past eighteen years. He was buried in the cemetery at Chelan, N. D. Titchenal of the Church of God officiating.
