"Ernest Duard Young
On the beautiful sunny Missouri morning of Jan. 30, 2008, while surrounded by his family, Ernest Young's spirit left this world to be in the loving arms of Jesus for eternity.
Ernest was 49 years old, born to Lovell J. Young and Hester June Jacobs Young in Glasgow. He had worked at several jobs in Kentucky, Indiana and South Carolina, before settling in the foothills of the Ozarks last year.
He married Jacqueline Lee "Jackie" Jackson on May 31, 1979, in Glasgow. He leaves to cherish his memory his daughters: Shannon Murphy (Arthur) of Morris, Ind., and Savannah Young (Michael Ramsey) of Greer, S.C.; his former wife, Jackie Todd (John) of Mt. Pleasant, S.C.; his sister, brother and sister-in-law, Helen May Brewington (Randall), Lovell Jacobs Young and Janet Stahulak, all of Decatur, Ill.; his grandsons: Mason Isaac Murphy, Ethan Jarrod Murphy, Tristan Sawyer Murphy and Hayden Garrret Ramsey. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins. In Missouri he leaves his dear friend and companion, Sherry Leverett, who shared much of his life in recent years.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, John Arthur Young; as well as grandparents, aunts and uncles.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, 2008, at the A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home with burial in the Old Zion Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday from noon to 8 p.m. and on Saturday from 10 a.m. until noon at the funeral home. "
