Cameron Harrison Allen
Cameron Harrison Allen died on January 23, 2017 at Windsor Court, Palm Springs California after some months of failing health.
Cameron was born on February 7 1928 in Springfield Ohio to George Badger Allen and Dorothy Spencer Allen who preceded him in death as have his brother George B.Allen Jr. and his sister Dorothy Allen Strawser . He is survived by his brother Spencer Allen (Rhoda), his sister Carolyn Allen Swavely (Luther), nieces and nephews all of Columbus, Ohio as well as his surrogate family Mike Ridenour and Roy Caffarel.
Cameron was in the army stationed in Korea during that war. He holds degrees from Otterbein University (BA History), University of Wisconsin (MA History), University of Illinois (MS Library Science) and Duke University (JD). He served as the law librarian and Professor of Law at Rutgers University for nearly 25 years. He is a Fellow of the American Society of Genealogists and has published extensively in law and genealogical journals.
His book The History of the American Pro-Cathedral, Church of the Holy Trinity, Paris (1815-1980 ) written while on sabbatical, 1982-1983, was published in 2012.
Cameron has been on the vestry of several churches including Grace Church, Newark New Jersey, St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Columbus, Ohio and St.Paul in the Desert, Palm Springs, California.
