Basler (nee Hook) dear father of George F., Jr., (Trish) and Chris (Carol) Basler; loving grandfather of Bethany (Drew) Scofield, Brandon (Jackie) Basler and Jack Basler; dearest great grandfather of Brayden, Jordyn, Lexi, Danny and the late Evelyn Basler; dear brother of Betty Brunkhorst and Jackie Michael; our dear brother-in-law, uncle, great uncle, cousin and friend.
Mr. Basler served in the U.S. Army attaining the rank of Sergeant. He served during the Korean War.
He was a St. Louis police officer, a Mehlville fireman and a member of the Kirkwood Police Dept. retiring as a Captain after 35 years of loyal service.
He was a member of Knights of Columbus council # 11146 and Oakville Elks Lodge.
