Professional Hockey Player. He began his junior hockey career with the Toronto Young Rangers of the Ontario Hockey Association from 1938 to 1940,which was followed by the Oshawa Generals of the same league in 1940 to 1941. He played with Generals in the 1941 Memorial Cup as well as the Toronto Donnell-Mudge of the Tottenham Mens Hockey League from 1940 to 1941. He then played with the Omaha Knights of the American Hockey Association from 1941 to 1942 until the league disbanded. From 1942 to 1943, he was with the Cornwall Army of the Quebec Senior Hockey League. He had made the playoffs each year with all of these teams. From 1943 to 1945 he had a few games with the Toronto Tip Tops of the TIHL and entered into military service with the Canadian Army during World War II. After his service ended, he advanced to the National Hockey League with the Detroit Red Wings from 1945 to 1949 as a center with some games with the Indianapolis Capitals of the American Hockey League from 1945 to 1947. He made the playoffs with the Red Wings during all but his last season when he was traded to the Chicago Black Hawks of the NHL where he played from the 1948 to 1952 seasons. With the Black Hawks, he scored one hat trick (3 goals) on November 25, 1948 and a penalty shot on December 4, 1948. He also had a short stint with the Milwaukee Sea Gulls of the United States Hockey League from 1950 to 1951. From 1951 to 1953 he was with the New York Rangers of the NHL and he lastly played with the Buffalo Bisons of the American Hockey League in the 1952 to 1953 season. His NHL total games are 328 with 85 goals and 117 assists and 19 playoff games with 5 goals and 2 assists. After he finished with professional hockey, he had a 25 year career in the newspaper advertising business.
