Mrs. Charlotte Walton Hampton, 75, passed away on the morning of September 9, 2022 in Panama City, FL.
Graveside services will be held at West Hills Cemetery near Rives, TN at 11am, Friday, September 23, 2022. Her nephew, Todd Hampton will officiate.
Mrs. Hampton was born in Dyersburg, TN on April 14, 1947 to the late Reed Walton, Sr. and Helen (Crouson) Walton, and was raised in Trimble, TN.
After graduating from the University of Tennessee at Martin in 1969, she taught 2nd and 3rd grades in Union City, TN until 1979. On a hot summer day in June of 1970, she married the love of her life, the late Bill Hampton. Together they raised a son, Will, and lived happily in Obion County, TN.
Later in life she taught adult education classes in Obion County, and was very proud of the work she did to help many receive their GED. After retirement, she traveled the globe with her dear friends from the MAC Club of Jackson, TN. She spent the last few years of her life with her son and daughter-in-law in Panama City Beach, FL.
Mrs. Hampton is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Will and Sarah (Channell) Hampton of Panama City Beach, FL, her brother and sister-in-law, Reed, Jr. and Denice (Carter) Walton of Medina, TN , as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was proceeded in death by her husband, Bill Hampton, and parents Reed, Sr. and Helen Walton.
