Our beautiful sister, Cindy, was taken home peacefully by her angels on Aug. 29, 2022.
Cindy was born in Sunnyvale, California, on March 27, 1955, to Adele and Tony Schlenz. She lived there with her parents and five siblings for many years as an active member of St. Joseph's Catholic parish.
The family then moved to Sonora, California. While in Sonora, Cindy participated in many activities at the Valley Mountain Regional Center in Stockton. She was a member of St. Patrick's Parish and had many friends in the parish.
Though Cindy had many challenges as a person with special needs, she brought many years of innocence, joy and laughter to our family with her quick wit and her childlike love. In her later years, Cindy shared her unique gifts with her friends and caregivers at Hanot Home in Lockeford. She thrived in an atmosphere of love, care and support. She was still involved with Valley Mountain Regional Center and attended San Joachim Parish. Hanot Home was like a second family to her for many years. As she aged and needed more care, Cindy resided at Fairmont Rehabilitation Hospital in Lodi. Once again, she thrived in her new home with the help of the competent, loving staff. She made many new friends and again touched all that knew her with her gifts of joy and laughter.
Cindy was preceded in death by both of her parents, Adele and Tony Schlenz; her brother, Terry, and her brother, Tim.
She is survived by brothers Tony and Tom; sister Sue: sisters-in-law, Eva, Cindy, Cyndi and Kim; brother-in-law, Jack; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Cindy will rest at Harmony Grove Cemetery in Lodi, California, with her parents.
We will all miss her. Cindy made the world a better place. Cindy would always say "I HAPPY"
