CARR-- At the state asylum for insane, Thursday, August 6. 1891, Alonzo P. Carr, aged about 55 years. Deceased was an old soldier and was committed to the asylum last fall, coming from the vicinity of Turner, this county. He enlisted December 17, 1861, as private in Co. I, 48th Indiana infantry, and re-enlisted and was first sergeant and May 1, 1865, was commissioned second lieutenant. He was discharged July 15, 1865. The remains will be buried by Sedgwick post G. A. R., No. 10 at 3 o'clock a.m. [sic] today.

REMOVED: Alonzo Carr, originally buried in Salem Pioneer Cemetery, was disinterred and moved to City View Cemetery in 1895, in the G.A.R. Circle.
