In memory of Truman R Hebdon, born September 22, 1936 at Idaho Falls, Idaho, passed away at his son's (Todd Hebdon) home in Queen Creek, AZ on August 29th, 2022. His parents were, Truman De Ward Hebdon and Lulu May Hunt. He had five sisters, DeLue Lang, Melva Joy Henderliter, Iris Henderson, Clarissa Kay Winn, and Nelda Mae Randall. He is survived by one sister (Iris), and six children. They are Sherra Lynn Bangerter, Bobette McMullan, Jo D Ann Jones, Truman Derk Hebdon, Michelle Johnson, and Todd Bullock Hebdon. He has 27 grandchildren and 35+ great-grandchildren.

Truman's ancestors were among the first settlers of St. George, or the Dixie mission. His bloodline comes through the Hunts, the Truman's, the Terrys, the Leavitt's, and the Pulsipher's, among others. Truman graduated from St. George Elementary school, Woodward Junior high, Enterprise, High in 1954, And Dixie junior-college in 1956.

He served in the Utah National Guard as an Army Reservist and was honorably discharged with the rank of SSG E6, on the 14th day of October 1962.

He served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter- day Saints from 1956 to 1958, to the Western States Mission, headquarters in Denver, Colorado.

Following his mission he enrolled at Brigham Young University, he graduated in 1961 with a Bachelor's degree. While at Brigham Young University he met and married Genelle Emily Bullock in the Alberta Canada Temple, December 19, 1959. Upon graduating in 1961 with a bachelor's degree, he was hired by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, to teach in the Church Educational System. In 1964- 65 he received his Master's degree from Brigham Young University.

Working for the Church Educational System, he served as a seminary and Institute instructor in Fillmore UT, Tucson AZ, Las Cruces NM, Mesa & Tempe AZ, and Plant City, FL.

Truman served in many church callings including; Gospel Doctrine, Bishop twice (Tucson AZ, & Plant City FL), High Councilor and Second Councilor in the Salt River Stake in Mesa. He served two missions with his wife Genelle in both Navoo IL, and in Warm Springs, NV. His gifts of his knowledge of the Gospel and teaching it has made an impact on thousands of people.

Truman and Genelle, his first wife were married for 50 years, when she passed away in 2011 from Alzheimer's.

Truman met and married Bonnie Gay Cannon in the St. George, Utah, Temple, on April 25, 2015. They were later divorced civilly. His remaining time on this earth was spent in the care of Bobette and Michael McMullan and his son Todd & Amy Hebdon.

At his request, his body has been cremated and his ashes and urn will be laid to rest at the Enterprise Utah Cemetery next to his wife (Genelle Emily Bullock Hebdon)'s grave after the service below.

A Truman R. Hebdon "Celebration Of Life" service will be held on October 14th, 2022 at 11:00 am at the Serenity Funeral Home of Southern Utah located at 1316 S. 400 E. #A6, St. George, UT 84790. All are welcome to come and celebrate his life and his effects he has had on thousands of people.
