Edna J. Reed age 87 of Elsmere went to be with the Lord on November 20, 2018.
Edna was born in Garrison Lake to the late Vonetta (Weeks) and Edward Leiby.
Edna was a hard worker with an incredible work ethic. She wore many hats throughout her working career. Edna was employed at DuPont Louviers site. She also was the office administrator at Christ United Methodist Church and Reed's Garage, both in Elsmere, DE. Besides work Edna found time to give back to others. She was a volunteer at the Veterans Administration Hospital for over 20 years, volunteering for over 3099 hours. Edna was also a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
In 1951 Edna met the love of her life, Harold Reed, at the skating rink. They were soon married and shared 67 years together. She loved reading and spending time at the family's beach home.
Edna will be dearly missed by her loving husband, Harold Reed; her children, David H. Reed and his wife, Lynne, and Wayne I. Reed and his wife, Lorranie; her grandchildren, Kenny and his wife, Erin, Brian and his wife, Robin, and Patrick Milner and his wife, Amy; and her great grandchildren, Elliot, Archer, Meryck, Emma, Ryan, and Dylan.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the service for Edna on Mon, Nov 26 at 12 noon at Krienen-Griffith Funeral Home, 1400 Kirkwood Hwy., Wilm., DE. Friends may call at the funeral home from 11:00am-12:00 noon. Interment will take place at Odd Fellows Cemetery, Smyrna, DE.
