LESLIE A. MCCLISH DIES FOLLOWING LONG ILLNESS
Leslie Allen McClish passed away at the home of his son Ralph on McClish Road, northeast of Mendon, Wednesday evening, March 15. He had been in failing health for the past two years.
He was born November 4, 1898, in Mendon Township, son of Will & Della (Ettinger) McClish. In November, 1919, he was married to Matilda Johnson in Kalamazoo. They made their home there for a short time. Since then, they have resided in the Mendon-Leonidas area. Mr. McClish was a very ardent sportsman.
He is survived by his wife Matilda; three sons, Edward and Ralph of Mendon and Cecil of Vicksburg; five daughters, Mrs. Clayton (Dortha) Lunde and Mrs. Charles (Laura) Phillips of Mendon, Mrs. Jeremiah (Lucille) Mears, Mrs. Donald (Eilene) Lash and Mrs. Rolla (Sally) Bronson, all of Vicksburg; his father, Will McClish of Kalamazoo; one brother, Hosea of Mendon and one sister Mrs. Verla Bourner of Kalamazoo; 28 grandchildren, one great-grandchild and many other relatives.
Furneral services were held Saturday at the Eickhoff Funeral Home. Rev. Rudolph Burnson, pastor of the Leonidas Community Church, officiated. Interment was in Beard Cemetery.
Serving as pall bearers were Gerald Reilly, Earl Spealman, John Beard, Charles Klein, Arthur Smith and Paul Lytle.
