Danville, Ind.- An 80 year old motorist was killed about 5:45 p.m. yesterday when his car was struck by another auto as he pulled onto U.S. 40 1 1/2 miles east of Stilesville, state police said.
State Police said the victim, Ernest C. Kivett, R. R. 1, Stilesville, had driven onto the road from a driveway at a sale barn. His car was struck by a westbound car driven by James R. Koebbe, 29, R.R. 1, Cloverdale, police said. Kivett was thrown from his car and died on the scene of a fractured skull, police said.
Koebbe and two passagers in his car, William Alden, 20 R.R. 1, Poland, and Charles Oakes Jr., 28, Cloverdale suffered minor injuries and were treated at Putnam County Hospital at Greencastle.
