Gary A. Bonk, 82, of Kellnersville, passed away on Saturday, September 10, 2022, peacefully and with family by his side. Gary was born on May 22, 1940 in Manitowoc, son of the late Anton Bonk and Anna (Wachal) Kutil. For 35 years he traveled the state of Wisconsin operating Bonk's Amusements, a carnival that he inherited from his father. For a time, Gary was the owner/operator of a semi and did cross-country hauls. Another of his business endeavors was owning and operating a few taverns in Manitowoc County, lastly Bonkers. Gary was an avid NASCAR, Brewers, and Packer's fan. He had his pilot's license and enjoyed flying. Gary was a supporter of the NRA, EAA and the Corvette Club. Gary is survived by his five children: Gay (Ismael) Acevedo, Clintonville, Joy Bonk, Maribel, Tony (fiancé Sue Murphy) Bonk, Crivitz, Janice Schiesl, Kellnersville, and Jill Aerts, Green Bay; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one sister: Maxine Fusco, Rome, NY, niece: Kathryn Jasiewicz, and nephews: Rick and Tim Meisenhelder and great nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his first wife Karen, the mother of all of his children and with whom he remained a life-long friend. He was preceded in death by his parents; step-father: Frederick Kutil; infant brother: Leon; brother-in-law: Joe Fusco and nephew: Randy Meisenhelder. A funeral service to celebrate Gary's life will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, September 17, 2022 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 522 Tower Ave., Kellnersville, with Rev. Santiago Turiano, Jr. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Saturday, September 17, 2022 at the church from 9:00 am until the time of service at 11:00 am.
