Steven John Ansell, age 70, of New Windsor, MD passed away unexpectedly, on Wednesday, September 14, 2022 at Frederick Villa, Catonsville, following a brief illness. Born November 9, 1951 in Frederick, he was the son of the late Stanley Lewis Ansell and Ruth Ellen Blacksten Ansell. Steve was a 1969 graduate of Francis Scott Key High School and after graduating worked on Kenny Lowman's farm. Shortly thereafter he moved to Kansas City, Kansas, working with Rosedale Barbeque, until moving back to Maryland in 2003. He then worked for Watson's Catering and Carryout in Frederick until 2008. He enjoyed cooking and barbequing, going on drives and traveling. Surviving are his siblings, Brenda Carmona and Angelo Vecchiarelli, Penny Strine and husband Drew, Peggy Jenkins and husband Darryl, Terry Ansell and wife Lisa, and Cindy Ansell; brother-in-law, James Carmona; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his half-brother, Charlie Ansell. He will be remembered by his friends, Maryjean Spangler Myers and Mike Mathias. Steve's family would like to thank his cardiologist, Dr. Reyes for his caring and support. Friends and family will be received at Hartzler Funeral Home, 310 Church St., New Windsor on Wednesday, September 21 from 6 to 9 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 22 at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens, Finksburg. Memorial contributions may be made to Maryland Horse Rescue, 2301 Cross Section Rd., Westminster, MD 21158, or , P.O.
