He proudly served in the US Army and Ohio National Guard and was lifelong member of American Legion Post #584. He retired from General Motors after thirty plus years of dedicated employment.
In his free time he loved to fish and spend time with his family and his cats, Hershal and Popper. He is survived by his grandson, Anthony (Dawn) Almendinger, step-daughter Laura Halbert, great grandsons Gavin & William, step grandsons Larry, Gareth, Nathanial, and Danial, step-great grandchildren Crystaline, Michael, Larry Paul III, Naomi, Alexis, Payton, Greyson, Hunter, Sawyer, great-great granddaughters Oakleigh & Jamila and prized cat Hershal.
The family would like to invite his loved ones and friends to Boyd Funeral Home for visitation on Tuesday, September 20, 2022, from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. Immediately following we will adjourn for the internment service to be held at the Marion Cemetery at 1:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Marion No Kill Cat Shelter, Marion County Humane Society, and/or Tranquility Hospice.
The family wishes to thank his (and Bessie's) in-home caregivers Pam, Patty, Misty, Freda, Crystal, Lisa, and Tranquility Hospice for their support and care of our beloved parents and grandparents…without you all they would not have been able to remain at home and comfortable as they wanted. You are all angels among us. Thank you
