Oleva Augustus, 82, of 101 East Columbus Avenue, South Charleston, Ohio, died Saturday, March 14, 1987, at 3:25 PM at Community Hospital following a lengthy illness. She was born near Milledgeville, Ohio. on December 18, 1904, the daughter of Branson and Anna (Burba) East. She has been a South Charleston area resident since 1937 and is a retired public school employee. She was a member of the Hillside Avenue Church of God and the South Charleston Rebecca Lodge. She has been active for many years in different kinds of hand work. She is survived by one son Keith Wilt of Duluth Georgia; one daughter Mrs. Eileen Fink of Huntsville Alabama; four step-daughters, Joyce Pargon of Summerset Ohio, Claribell Massie, Vivian Williams, and Ruth Harlow all of Springfield; one brother Sherrill East of Round Rock, Texas; two sisters, Mrs. Emerson (Mary Lou) Campbell of Springfield, and Edythe Fichthorn of Fayette County; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence, in May 1977, and one daughter, Mrs. Joyce Pendleton. Friends may call in the Ingling-Williams Funeral Home South Charleston, Ohio on Monday from 7-9 PM. Rebecca Lodge will hold services at 8 PM. Graveside services will be held Tuesday at 10 AM at Greenlawn Cemetery with Rev George Reed officiating.
