That same year 1900 census Mathias age 18 is also recorded living with mother Ella and siblings. Can not located Matthew in 1910 but Lillie is still living with her parents and two children Harvey and Sarah Baker. Matthew Baker is in Tacoma, Washington by 1917 and on the city directories. 1920 Matthew, Engineer on Railroad, soap maker, single Tacoma, Washington. 1926 Matthew marries Cecilia Schulte and list his parents as Tom and Helen MOTES Baker. Where did Matthew get the name MOTES. Isthmus name Ellen not Helen. There are many Bakers on the city directories in Tacoma including a Thomas and Helen, could they have been friends with Matthew and just witnesses to his marriage. 1930 Matthew and Cecllia are living in Fayette County, PA. Matthew's SS death record list his parents as Isaac Baker and Ellen PERRY. I believe that the Baker children did not know the true name of their fathers. Matthew's daughter Sarah Ellen Baker Elliott lived to be 100 years old. 1906-2006 buried in Martinsburg, WV. I found only one grandchild Geneva Elliott born in 1943 no other information found.
