Mrs. Honor Jean "Jeannie Beanie" Waters, 41, of 66 Victoria Square, Frederick, died Saturday, Feb. 21, at Frederick Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of James Larry Waters for eight years.

Born Sept. 24, 1956, in Frederick, she was the daughter of Marie Elizabeth Brown Proctor of Frederick and the late Claude Waven Proctor.

She graduated from Frederick High School. She began her career by holding several positions as a biological lab aide in Frederick County. She then acquired a position as a lab aide at Hazelton Lab in Gaithersburg in 1988. She began her employment at FMH in 1991 as a nursing assistant and after further training worked as a monitor technician until she became ill in 1996.

She enjoyed singing for family and many friends on special occasions, working in her mother's yard and planting flowers. She loved exotic birds and dogs.

Surviving in addition to her husband and mother are two stepsons, James Waters Jr. of Olney and Andrea Waters of Germantown; five sisters, Betty Bumbray and husband Elmer of Fort Washington, Cindy Proctor of Fairfax, Va., and Beverly Brown, Penny Proctor and Kimberly Proctor, all of Frederick; five brothers, Claude Proctor, Donald Proctor and Perry Proctor, all of Frederick, Ronald Proctor of Olney and Gregory Proctor of Germantown; three uncles, Tony Brown and Thomas Ambush, both of Frederick and Joseph Proctor of Harrisburg, Pa.; four aunts, Peggy C. Hardy, Mildred Brown and Delores Brown, all of Frederick, and Geneva Proctor of Harrisburg; a great-aunt, Jennie Lee of Frederick; three sisters-in-law, Renee Waters, Pastor Phyllis Brown and Joan Ricketts, all of Gaithersburg; a half sister, Louise Banks of Frederick; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She also is remembered by devoted friends Cassandra Rollins, Rachel Vasquez, Vera Phelps and Maria and Adrienne.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Tracey R. Proctor, and three brothers, Carlton Proctor, Terry Heath Proctor and Fred Roland Proctor.

The family will receive friends at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, from noon until services begin at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 26. The Rev. Dr. Paul Kemp, pastor of Progressive Community Church, will officiate. Interment will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Frederick.
