DIES AT HOME OF DAUGHTER
Mrs. Jennie Steers Barnes, 68, Leaves Two Sons and Four Daughters – Funeral Saturday
Mrs. Jennie Steers Barnes, 68, passed away at 9:15 a.m. today at the home of her daughter, Mrs. T.L. Webster, 703 West Hendricks street. Death was due to a complication of diseases.
Jennie Steers was born Aug. 12, 1859 at Dry Ridge, Ky., where she spent her early life. She married Albert Barnes Oct. 10, 1877. He passed away Dec. 21, 1925. The family came to Decatur county fifteen years ago and lived on a farm two miles east of Greensburg.
The deceased became a member of the Baptist church at Dry Ridge when a child and remained faithful until death.
There are left to mourn four daughters: Mrs. Ezra Calendar, of Burney; Mrs. T.L. Webster, city; Mrs. John Calendar, of Burney and Mrs. Arthur Springmire, east of Greensburg and two sons: Wesley Barnes, of Shelbyville and Floyd Barnes of this city. Two sisters and two brothers have preceded her in death.
The funeral service held in the home of her daughter, the Rev. J.H. Morton officiating. Burial in South Park cemetery.
