Mrs. Esther Singer, 54, wife of Ed Singer, died Sunday afternoon at her home, corner of Twin and Horn streets, after a critical illness of about 10 weeks. Death was due to a heart condition superinduced by goiter that had been thought to be inactive. It became quite apparent a few days before her demise that unless she improved soon, she could not long survive.

Funeral services were conducted from the residence Wednesday afternoon by Dr. H. C. Getter, pastor of the local Lutheran church, of which she had been a life member, followed by burial in Roselawn cemetery.

Surviving, besides the husband, are two sisters, Miss Irene Locke, Lewisburg, and Mrs. Maude Dwyer, Dayton; one brother, Herschel Locke, R. R. 1, Lewisburg; three nieces and two nephews.

Mrs. Singer was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John A. Locke and had spent all of her life in this community.
