Sergeant Robert J. Priest, DSN 1815, received his commission in 1948 and retired in 1979. During his career, he served in the following districts and divisions: 10th, 5th, Bureau of Investigation, and 6th district. He was the recipient of two honorable mentions and four Chief Letters of Commendation for police work above and beyond the call of duty.
Robert John Priest, of Saint Peters, MO, passed away Sunday, September 25, 2022, at the age of 101. Loving husband of the late Margaret Ellen Priest; beloved son of the late Bert and Stella Priest; cherished uncle and great-uncle to many and several friends.
Robert proudly served his country in the United States Marines during World War II. While serving, he met his wife, Margaret, who was also serving in the United States Marines at that time. Robert was a Police Officer in St. Louis, Missouri, and served for over thirty years. He was a devout catholic and was a member of the Sts. Joachim & Ann Catholic Church. In his free time, Robert enjoyed reading and playing golf. Robert was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Sergeant Priest comes from a family with a long tradition of service to the Saint Louis Metropolitan Police Department. His family members include Sgt. Albert Priest, Sgt. William L. Priest, and Sgt. Joseph Priest.
