Jeannine Copeland Arthurs Dollar, 85, passed away on Thursday morning, January 15, 2015 under the care of Transitions LifeCare and Hospice. She was born on August 17, 1929 in Chatham County; the daughter of the late Palmer and Maggie Williams Copeland. She graduated from Peace College, Class of 1949 and before retiring, she was a secretary with A.B. Baucom School and NC DOT.
Jeannine was an active member of Apex United Methodist Church, Eastern Star, Cub Scouts as a Den Mother and enjoyed the many years she had taking outings with her friends, especially to the Raleigh Little Theater. Most of all, Jeannine loved being a mother and grandmother.
She is survived by her three sons: Gary and Janet Arthurs, of Johnsonville, SC, Steve Arthurs, of Pittsboro, and Bart and Denise Arthurs, of Apex; grandchildren: Kristen and Thomas Hanna, of Murrells Inlet, SC, Vance Arthurs and fiancé Mary Elizabeth Hendricks, both of Greer, SC, Brad Arthurs and Chelsea Arthurs, both of Cary, Ashley and Blair Cook, of Raleigh and Matthew Arthurs, of Apex; brother: Ronald W. and Jean Copeland, of Apex; sister: Sharon and Craig Martin, of Apex; several nieces and nephews and by other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her infant daughter: Sherrye Camille Arthurs and by a sister and brother-in-law: Barbara and Ernest Horton.
Family will receive friends on Monday, January 19, 2015 from 11-12 Noon at Apex United Methodist Church, with services to begin at 12 Noon. Interment will follow at Olive Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery.
