This very incident, was played down in each of his shows with jokes about his own "ugliness". In 1988 he met Max Cavallari, an encounter that changed his life and pushed him towards a cabaret career. Just in 1988, during a walk on the beaches of Palinuro, in the province of Salerno, together with Cavallari he forms the comic duo that will make him famous. They decide to call themselves Fichi d'India, the name chosen to pay homage to the frame of the walk, the plants of prickly pears. The comic duo made their debut on the stage of a cabaret club in Varese, the "Fuori cena", and then began to perform throughout Italy, among clubs of various kinds. In 1994 they landed on Italia 1, within the TV program "Yogurt". In the same year they are contacted by Radio Deejay, for which they begin to write and conduct their own program, "Tutti per l'una", in the company of Marco Baldini until 1998. Their career definitely kicks off on television on Canale 5, thanks to the participation in the program "La Sai L' Ultima?". The duo never misses the live approach and between 1996 and 1998 animates the summer seasons of the Aquafan in Riccione. I Fichi d'India appear in the first editions of Zelig, broadcast by Italia 1, and it is this experience that makes the comic duo one of the most famous in Italy. Around 2007 the duo participates Colorado show until 2012, and then returns to Zelig in 2013. Emergency operated, he leaves the San Raffaele Hospital after some mounths to move to a rehabilitation center. On 5 April 2014 he made his first public return to the San Siro Stadium during the match of his favorite team, Internazionale di Milano, but without being able to return to work for the rest of his life.
